lashes

Eyelash Extensions are a popular new service and product that lengthens and thickens your own natural eyelashes. Lash Extensions are single strands of synthetic eyelashes that are curved to replicate a natural eyelash. They are applied to each individual natural eyelash one by one for a natural, beautiful and luscious look. Eyelash Extensions are perfect for special occasions or for day to day wear. When applied properly, eyelash extensions will last the length of the natural growth cycle of your eyelashes.

Eyelash Extensions can be worn daily without removal and can be worn as long as you would like with regular maintenance fill ups. To maintain a great appearance, these maintenance fills are generally recommended every 2 to 4 weeks, based on your own natural lash growth cycle. During a fill appointment I will remove any lashes that are grown out and replace any lashes that have cycled out.

When applied properly and with proper care, lash extensions will not harm natural lashes. Each extension is adhered to a single natural lash in order to prevent interruption of the lash growth cycle. Be mindful not to overly rub your eyes or play, twist or pull on the lash extension as this can cause immature shedding.

Yes, eyelash extensions are waterproof. You can enjoy these lashes with little need to adjust your lifestyle. However, during the first 24 hours it is not recommended to swim, spa, or steam. The adhesive needs time to cure and bond.

FAQ

microneedling

Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a cosmetic procedure used to improve the appearance of the skin. It involves using a device equipped with very fine needles to create controlled, superficial punctures in the skin’s surface. These micro-injuries stimulate the body’s natural wound healing processes, leading to increased production of collagen and elastin, which are essential proteins that give the skin its elasticity and firmness.

Microneedling can be used to address various skin concerns, including:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles: The increased collagen and elastin production can help reduce the appearance of these signs of aging.
  • Scars: Microneedling is often used to improve the appearance of acne scars, surgical scars, and other types of scars.
  • Uneven skin texture: It can help smoothen the skin’s surface and improve overall texture.
  • Hyperpigmentation: Microneedling may help reduce the appearance of dark spots and uneven skin tone.
  • Stretch marks: Some studies suggest that microneedling can help improve the appearance of stretch marks by promoting collagen production in the affected areas.

Before the procedure, the skin is usually cleansed and a numbing cream might be applied to minimize discomfort.

After the procedure, the skin might appear red and slightly swollen, similar to a mild sunburn. This usually subsides within a few days. It’s important to follow the post-treatment care instructions provided by the medical professional, which may include avoiding direct sun exposure and using gentle skincare products.

WAXING

  • Hair Length: Make sure your hair is long enough for waxing to be effective. The hair should be at least a quarter of an inch long (about the length of a grain of rice) to allow the wax to grip it properly.
  • Exfoliation: Gently exfoliate the area a day or two before your waxing appointment. Exfoliating helps remove dead skin cells and can prevent ingrown hairs by allowing the wax to adhere more effectively.
  • Clean Skin: Cleanse the area thoroughly before your appointment. This helps prevent infections and ensures the wax adheres to the hair rather than to oils, lotions, or dirt on the skin.
  • Numbing Cream (Optional): If you’re concerned about discomfort, you might consider using a numbing cream recommended by your waxing professional. Apply it about 30 minutes before your appointment, following the instructions provided.
  • Pain Relief: If you’re worried about pain, you can take an over-the-counter pain reliever like ibuprofen before your appointment. Just be sure to follow the recommended dosage instructions.
  • Avoid Sun Exposure: It’s best to avoid sun exposure for at least 24 hours before and after waxing, as sunburned skin can be more sensitive during the process.
  • Hygiene: Ensure you’re clean and fresh before your appointment. However, avoid applying lotions, oils, or deodorants to the area that will be waxed on the day of your appointment.
  • Comfortable Clothing: Wear loose and comfortable clothing to your appointment, especially if you’re getting a bikini or underarm wax. This will help prevent irritation after the waxing.
  • Avoid Retinoids: If you’re using products containing retinoids (such as Retin-A), it’s advisable to stop using them a few days before your waxing session. These products can make your skin more sensitive and prone to irritation.
  • Consultation: If you’re new to waxing or have specific concerns, it’s a good idea to have a consultation with the waxing professional before your appointment. They can answer any questions you have and provide recommendations based on your skin type and hair growth.

Remember that everyone’s skin and hair are different, so some people may experience more discomfort or sensitivity than others. Communicate openly with your waxing professional during the session and let them know if you have any concerns or if the wax feels too hot or uncomfortable.

Be mindful not to overly rub your eyes or play, twist or pull on the lash extension as this can cause immature shedding.
